Consultation on Costs in Tribunals

Attention was recently drawn to the consultation Report by the Costs Review Group to the Senior President of Tribunals published in December 2011 relating to the consideration of the awarding of costs in tribunals. This also canvasses views on the awarding of costs in certain circumstances at VT at para. 106 in particular.

Responses were sought by today and in an unprecedented example of cooperation and like-mindedness the RSA together with RICS and IRRV has produced a Joint Societies' submission to Sir Robert Carnwath which is available to Members on the Information page of the website as from now.

Please take a moment to read this – the whole issue of costs has the potential one day to affect the pockets of those involved with the business rates system whether as adviser or as the Client ratepayer !
